BOOKS
1920s, 1930s, 1940s: The Definitive Sourcebook
The first category on the list is vintage style and fashion books. These are a terrific resource for any vintage fashion lover. I especially love the Sears Catalog books because they show what people wore everyday, rather than an idealized version that models wore for portrait sessions. These are especially helpful for someone who is starting to dress in a vintage style.
1- The Definitive Sourcebook series

BEAUTY
Besame Lipstick
Next is the all important beauty category. All of these are basic products for the modern pinup and vintage enthusiast. I especially love the Ready, Set, Roll Kit from Lucille’s Locks as its a great starter kit for learning to do vintage hair.
1- Lucille’s Locks Ready, Set, Roll Kit
Lucille’s Locks is a small online shop that sells vintage hairstyling tools and retro decorative items. The Ready, Set, Roll Kit is the perfect hairstyling tool: It includes curlers, a storage bag, a comb, and alligator clips, and its pink! Since its a small business it might not always be available but she restocks frequently!
2- Lipstick from Besame Cosmetics
Besame is a vintage reproduction company that produces lovely beauty products reminiscent of Hollywood starlets and are especially known for their lipsticks. They put out several special collections each year and their packaging is luxurious! Give the gift of glamour to your favorite vintage lover with a lipstick in Victory Red or Red Hot Red. I love that each lipstick is labeled with the year of inspiration.
3- Hair Scarves
Square chiffon scarves are perfect for covering a curl set at night or wearing in your hair as a cute accessory during the day. They’re inexpensive and easy to find. I especially love these scarves from Belle Blossoms
I absolutely love these larger scarves for protecting hair from the wind and weather.
4- Box Subscription
If your vintage enthusiast is also a fan of box subscriptions, these make the perfect gifts!
LeKeux Vintage Salon is a salon and vintage beauty company that has a monthly pinup parcel subscription. I absolutely adore their packaging, it reminds me of a 1950s beauty salon!
Red Bird Vintage is another monthly subscription box that includes authentic vintage pieces curated for each subscriber. From what I gather on Instagram, subscribers to the service are really happy with the things they receive!
CLOTHING
Belle Poque dress
1- Belle Poque Clothing
This is a vintage inspired clothing brand that is easily available and inexpensive. Items can be purchased via their website as well as Amazon. I like to stock up on their vintage style basics like tops and sweaters. Bonus: I have a discount code to shop directly from their website! Just enter the code KACIE at checkout!
2- Gift Cards
If you’re not exactly sure what your vintage enthusiast will like, why not get them a gift card to pick out something they want? I like these shops for gift cards because you can get a huge variety of clothing and accessories.
3- Warm Winter Scarves
I especially love these perfect 1940s style scarves stocked at Top Vintage. You can also find home made versions on Etsy. An absolute must when visiting Paris, especially in the fall or winter!
4- Pajamas
Who doesn’t love a good set of cozy pajamas? Button down pajama tops with matching bottoms are classics. I love receiving them as a gift because they’re something I love and enjoy but don’t often purchase for myself. They’re easy to get on Amazon and most other big box shops have some style of button down pajamas. For a special and luxurious treat, check out these 2 sets of vintage style PJs.
FOR THE HOME
MCM style planters from Lucille’s Locks Shop
I know many vintage fashion enthusiasts who are also interested in Mid Century Modern design so I decided to include some gift ideas here. Plus, Mid Century Modern design is having a moment and many stores sell modern items inspired by MCM design.
1- Mid Century Modern Style Planter
Lucille’s Locks does it again with these MCM planters! They’re adorable! (And bonus, she also sells adorable vanity organizers too!)
2- Books
Design books make a great gift! These books have been on my list for ages, I feel inspired by looking at homes with great design. I do wonder if any kids live in those houses, and if so, how do they keep their homes so clean?! A well designed, clean home is something I aspire to one day!
Mid Century Modern Living: The Mini Modern’s Guide to Pattern and Style by Keith Stephenson and Mark Hampshire
Mid Century Modern Design: A Complete Sourcebook by Dominic Bradbury
Mid Century Modern: Interiors, Furniture, and Design Details
3- Starburst Stickers
Starburst stickers are a fun design element to add to walls, mirrors, and windows. You can find many different version on Etsy, but I like these stickers.
4- Mid Century Modern House Numbers
I adore these house numbers from this Etsy seller! When I get the chance (whenever I live in a house again!), I plan to purchase some for myself.
FOR THE PLANNER
The Pinup Planner
1- Pinup Planner
I recently came across this seller through instagram and am intrigued by this fun planner. Its undated so can be started at any time of the year and is a great tool for the aspiring pinup girl in your life.
2- Art Deco Planner
This is a beautifully designed, hardbound planner with art deco details. The website includes many different planners that may inspire your vintage lover.
FOR THE TRAVEL ENTHUSIAST
Vintage Style Luggage from Marks & Graham
I’m always on the lookout for vintage style (yet modern construction) travel gear. I want something that fits my style but also will hold up with the beating I put it through while traveling.
1- Vintage Style Luggage
If Steamline luggage is out of your budget, why not check out the vintage style luggage by Mark & Graham. I’ve always thought it would be sophisticated to have a matching luggage set (I mean, wouldn’t it look classic when traveling in Paris?!), and this set is classic, sophisticated, and fun. I especially love the vanity kit.
I also like this vintage style luggage by NZBZ at a lower price point available on Amazon, or this Amazon basics set.
2- Hat Box
Along with vintage style luggage, a vintage style hat box is really handy. I often don’t travel with hats because I don’t have a way to protect them while traveling. A hat box like this would be really useful and also super stylish.
3- Travel Jewelry Box
Packing vintage and pinup style jewelry is always a challenge, especially packing bangles! This bangle box by Splendette is genius!
Marks and Graham make some terrific travel jewelry boxes and travel pouches.
4- Travel Mirror
I can’t tell you how many times I’ve been traveling and end up doing my makeup in random locations just because of space or lighting issues. One thing that is super useful is a travel mirror with its own lighting so I can see what I’m doing. This one has been on my list for a while! I love how the light entirely encircles the mirror.
There are many other things that can be added to this list and I would love to hear if you have anything I missed or would add! Don’t forget to check out some of my latest posts to help you get started on your vintage style journey!
